"This Exercise Stuff really works!"

This knowledge is the biggest benefit I have gotten from working out with Tricia.

I have been working out with Tricia for quite some time but have had a very on-again off-again commitment - or maybe no commitment.  I let work, personal life, the weather - pretty much anything - get in the way of my exercise program with her.  In the fall of 2012, I finally had enough with my weight, shape, lack of strength and general poor fitness level and I put myself whole-heartedly into Tricia's very capable hands and began working with her three times a week.  The results have been outstanding!  I saw changes to my shape, cardio and strength in less than two weeks and I became hooked.  Tricia is exceptional at putting together the right fitness program to meet individual needs, goals and realistic commitments.  She is motivational in a quiet and effective way - she doesn't heap tons of praise on you for the least little accomplishment but when she says "nice job" or "good work", you know she means it and you want to do more, better.

I have moved overseas for a year and miss working out with Tricia tremendously, but she was able to inspire me and help me catch the workout 'bug'.  I am determined to keep improving on my 'body by Tricia' and look forward to hearing "nice job, good work" from her when I get back to working out with her in 2014 because "this exercise stuff really works!"

Michelle's Story
Client: 50 year old female 
Inspiration: To lose weight, increase strength, achieve an overall feeling of well being
Results: In 1 year... 15lb weight loss; increased energy; definitely feel better physically and mentally; can now last a whole day on Black Diamond runs at the ski hill with energy to spare!

​One year ago I had had enough and realized I needed someone to help me achieve better health. I found Tricia at Inspiration Training and it was the best thing that could have happened to me. One of the main reasons I chose Tricia over another trainer was her qualifications. Her knowledge of the human body and exercises is a huge benefit in the exercise program.
the program

In April of 2009 I signed up with Tricia for 6 months, training one hour twice a week. Tricia mixes up the exercises so I am constantly challenged and never bored. She has also provided exercises that have assisted with some knee pain I was experiencing. Tricia seems to know that I can push myself to a certain level even when I don’t think I can. Her method of challenging me has helped me to achieve amazing results. 

During Tricia’s maternity leave I had the opportunity to train with her husband Miki. I enjoyed my sessions with Miki as his training methods are slightly different but the knowledge, challenge and results are just as wonderful. 

In September of 2009 I entered my first duathlon, The Blitz. I was pleasantly surprised with my results of the race and have entered again for September 2010 to better my finish times.

I am now beginning my 3rd 6 month program and look forward to the sessions.

In one year I have lost 15 pounds and many inches. More importantly, I have more energy, strength and stamina in everything I do. I’m feeling the best I have in years.

Richard's Story

Update!!!!!   
Richard has been training with me for 15 years now!  He is stronger than he has ever been and I can count on 1 hand the number of days he has missed.  He committed to his health 15 years ago and has never looked back.

Client: 47 year old male 
Inspiration: To lose weight, improve health, and increase overall strength

Results: I have been working with Tricia for a year now and have lost 30 pounds, 4 inches off my waist and more importantly kept it off. I no longer have high cholesterol; I have increased my strength, endurance, coordination, built muscle and have more energy. 

the inspiration Before training with Tricia I had never participated in any events or races. In February I completed my first race the Blitz Snowshoe Fun Run a 4 km run in the mountains. My next goal is the Blitz Duathlon. A 4km run, 20km bike, 4km run.

the program I started June 2009 and participate in three group training classes a week. The reason it works is that she keeps her classes challenging and varied and she wants you to succeed as much as you want to succeed. She will give you 110% to help you achieve the goals that you set out. I feel very fortunate to be under her guidance. 

the results

10 Years later

Client: 2020 marks the 11th year of training with Tricia

Inspiration: To still be working out and crushing goals at 65 years old.  

Results: dedicated to my personal health and fitness.  There has only been 1 day in 11 years that I have missed a workout due to illness.   Strong body, strong mind!
 the inspiration ​ A family with a history of health issues including obesity, a younger sister who already needs to walk with a cane.  The motivation is to change the outcome of my life to be different  then my family history.  
the program  currently train with Tricia four times a week two resistance and two conditioning. She has been invaluable over the years with her continued help and support. I could not be the success I am without her. Tricia continues to challenge me with different exercises and has given me the tools to make better nutritional choices.. ​

  • successfully finished many races including back to back Blitz Duathlon Races.  5km Trail run, 20km bike, 5km trail run
*** Richard shows up to every class ready to put in the work.  He has lost weight, gained a significant amount of muscle mass and keeps up with other group members in their 20s, but most of all I'm extremely happy about the increase in his confidence.

Inspiration #2

Sue's Story
Client: 53 year old marathon runner
Inspiration: to decrease overall marathon time and improve fitness
Results: Improved overall strength (especially upper body and core); took 12 minutes off my previous personal best marathon time (ran in May 2007) but more impressively 20 minutes off the last two previous marathon times. 

the inspiration 



I have always been active and involved in soccer, hiking and running with long distance running more recently in the past 4 years. Tricia has persistently challenged me to add in appropriate cross training to improve my overall fitness and strength and to balance my muscle groups. I have been trying to improve my marathon time since my last personal best but always find that last 10 km drag me down. So I finally decided to listen to her!! 
the program 
I started in October ’08 with 2 cross training circuit sessions per week. Jan. ’09 when my training program for my next marathon started I increased to 3 cross training circuit sessions per week. Even with the 2 sessions per week I had already noticed a difference in my upper body and core strength (it was pretty pathetic when we first started!!) 

In addition, when previously training for my marathons I had occasionally had knee pain and right foot and ankle pain but the strengthening of all the muscle groups in my legs abated this problem. 

the results
  • Greatly improved strength and tone of upper body
  • Improved strength and stability of core and legs
  • Improved marathon time considerably – most notably that during my run my breathing was better controlled and relaxed as I was able to maintain good body alignment throughout the race, even when I was fatiguing.
  • The fatigue I had normally felt in my legs by km. 32 that would slow my time down did not catch up to me until about km 39 – and by then the finish line is pulling you in and I was able to maintain race pace all the way!!
  • Added bonus of losing a few extra pounds that I had wanted to but was not the main goal (and although I didn't measure inches I know I lost inches around my chest, waist and hips by the way my clothes fit - I almost had to get a new water belt as mine was a bit too big)


"Thanks Tricia, for your persistence and incredibly challenging but fun programs. I’ll be sticking with the program as my next goal now is to qualify for Boston (I have to shave another 5 minutes off my time). But I feel confident that with your training and my running coaches training I can do it!" 

UPDATE September 6, 2009: I did it! I reached my goal of qualifying for Boston. Training three times a week with Tricia and completing my running program, I qualified for Boston in Sacramento with a time of 4:05.38.

Inspiration #3

A Father & Son's Story
Client: 45 year old & 14 year old males
Inspiration: Lose weight
Results: In 6 months... 45lbs weight lost ...increased confidence ...improved health. 

Two years ago my son and I starting training with Tricia. Little did we know that she would not only help us lose weight but would also help my son build self-confidence and help me get my health back. 
the inspiration 




I was six feet and 200 pounds with my cholesterol climbing each year. My son was 14 years old, 6 foot 1 and 198 pounds. In the past, I had tried to get my son active in school and extracurricular activities but he showed no interest and would only stick with things for a few weeks. 

I had to do something to get our health back on track.
the program 
We trained with Tricia one hour twice a week with 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise before each session. Tricia worked with us to define our goals and created a custom fitness program to ensure we would achieve them. 

My son and I had different weaknesses, strengths, and past injuries - but Tricia's extensive knowledge and experience allowed her to adapt exercises to provide the safest and most effective training for both of us. 

Tricia really took an interest in helping my son to become confident in himself and to motivate him to continue finding physical activities he enjoyed and which kept him fit and healthy. She took him outside hiking, played tennis with him, and tried to encourage him to find other activities that he enjoyed. He began looking forward to going to the gym and no longer dreaded physical education class in school.
the results
In 6 months my son had lost 30 pounds and I had lost 15.

A year later, I lost a total of 30 pounds, my cholesterol level dropped and my overall health improved. My son had lost a total of 45 pounds, is participating in physical education at school and is being active on a regular basis. 

Tricia's training style of providing education and reasoning behind the exercises as well as her demanding attitude pushed us to our greatest potential. These are the reasons my son and I reached our goals and have continued to stay healthy and active.

Inspiration #4

Tegan's Story
Client: Mother of two young children
Inspiration: The Blitz (a 4 km snowshoe race), 5km run & lose weight
Results: currently training... lost 5.5 inches in just over a month 
the inspiration 
I was always active but after 2 kids, I was having troubles losing that excess baby weight. Eager to get back to my active lifestyle, I turned to Tricia to help me get started.
the program
I had my first session on October 6th, 2008. We trained for an hour the first day and I was immediately excited about working towards my goals with Tricia. Although I have a few extra pounds to get rid of and may not look like the fittest individual, Tricia was not afraid to challenge me and make me sweat. 

I purchased 24 sessions and train 3 times a weeks. On top of our 3 hours together I also do cardio on my own and pilates one time a week. 2 out of the 3 days that we meet we perform a full body workout with high intensity intervals interspersed and move from one exercise to the next keeping my heart rate high and burning more calories. One day a week we do a cardiovascular workout in order to get me closer to reaching my goal of running a 5km race. 
the results
After one month of training I have lost:
  • 1/2 an inch from my chest
  • 1 inch around the rib cage
  • 1/2 an inch from my abdomen
  • 1/2 an inch from my thighs
  • 2 inches from my upper arms
I started by running 30 second intervals on the treadmill with 3 minutes of walking in between.  I now run for 1 minute intervals and rest for only 2 minutes. A huge success for me.
