Personal training and playing an active role in helping individuals reach their goals began for me while completing my Bachelors degree in Human Kinetics at the University of British Columbia. Since that time, I  have held multiple positions in the fitness industry including facility manager, personal trainer, spin instructor, and group fitness leader. I have gained experience working with a variety of individuals each with different goals and fitness levels.  I have a great deal of experience working with individuals looking for general fitness improvement, weight loss, and the weekend athlete.  For the past three years I have been the head strength and conditioning coach at one of the largest softball camps in Canada and have participated in Diamondawgs baseball camps providing on-field conditioning since 2004.  I use my sporting background in all of my training sessions,  Incorporating balance, coordination, strength, and cardiovascular conditioning in functional movement patterns.  I believe these aspects of training are important for all individuals as they provide us with the strength to perform  day to day activities and live long healthy lives.

I am  a Gymstick  instructor and Johnny G certified spin instructor as well as a certified strength and conditioning specialist through NSCA. I have taught beginners to triathlon groups and even NHL hockey players.

I am always  expanding my knowledge and training skills in order to provide the most effective, challenging, and personalized training for my clients in pursuit of reaching their goals.

Education / Certifications

  • Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (NSCA)
  • Twist Sport Conditioning Specialist - Level 3 (Twist Conditioning)
  • Master Coach (Twist Conditioning)
  • Bachelor of Human Kinetics (UBC)

I graduated with my degree in Human Kinetics from the University of British Columbia.  While in post-secondary I was an academic all-Canadian baseball player for the Douglas College Royals (NWAACC) and the UBC Thunderbirds (NAIA).  After finishing my playing career, I decided to remain in British Columbia until 2007.  During this time I was a senior strength coach and manager of baseball conditioning for Twist Conditioning Inc (TCI).

Now living in Calgary, I have continuing to develop programs in my first area of expertise - baseball strength and conditioning - and have expanded my clientele to include athletes of all ages.  I strongly believe that everyone is an athlete and my functional style of training reflects this belief.  I teach all of my clients about balance, posture, movement skills, full body strength, and core strength.  Preparing athletes for a sporting event or preparing clients for the "sport of life" involves many of the same principles.  An athletic style of training is more fun, more engaging, and will produce exceptional results.

I have had some incredible experiences working with hundreds of athletes from youth to professional including players from Major League Baseball, the Junior National Baseball Team, the National Hockey League, the German Elite Hockey League, and Women's National Soccer Team.  I am a certified level 3 baseball coach with the NCCP and head coach the Calgary Cubs Midget 'AAA' baseball team (16-18yrs).  I take great pride in the responsibility I have to provide education to all of my clients and players along the road to their dreams.  As an educator I have presented at coaching clinics and strength and conditioning conferences on numerous topics in both Canada and the US.  In addition to Inspiration Training, I am also the founder of Diamondawgs, a baseball and softball education company.
