Baseball and Softball Conditioning
Our group training sessions will develop all of the baseball-specific strength needed to complete at the highest level on the diamond. The program includes the same elements that coach Kawahara has successfully used with players from the Canadian Junior National Team, Canadian National Team, Japanese Professional League and Major League Baseball. The group atmosphere is cost effective, motivating, and will challenge players of all physical abilities.
Ages: 14-18 yrs
Phase 1 focuses on building an athlete with a solid physical foundation. At the beginning of every off-season it is critical to emphasize mobility, the development of strength, conditioning, joint stability, basic movement skills, and balance. Athletes will see large strength gains and an overall improvement in conditioning and agility.
Phase 2 takes the strength developed in Phase 1 and apply it to the power movements demanded of players on the field. Workloads will be tapered to have athletes peak for their evaluations and opening day.
D2 Strength & Conditioning Program will focus on:
- Balance
- Movement-based & athletic style of training
- Full body strength
- Rotary power
- Shoulder stability
- Speed development
- Agility and footspeed
- Movement skills and athleticism
- Core stability
Small group training will emphasize:
- Low coach to player ratio for safety
- One-on-one attention
- Motivation of group atmosphere
